Usborne books knows how to do things right. These are two touchy/feely cardboard books with simple text and pictures with texture.
Watt lists the ways that different animals have different traits (long ears/short ears; soft tail/curly tail) to find the right animal.

Life Magazine part II

You can search the Life pictures on Google image search.
Google books has scans of the entire Life magazine, including advertisements, pictures, etc.
Go to the timeline pictures and choose a date and issue to view.
Click on the link above.

Oddly enough, life.com doesn't seem to have links to the google full scans, but if you go through Google books you can view Life magazine 1936-1972.
